Ah yes, cats and butts: comedy gold. Not all of my recent ideas involve cats, though. One of the items on the list is the phrase “doggie parkour,” which may still make an appearance at some point. I don’t know if it’s a good idea yet, but perhaps with time and consideration, it will be polished into… something. Sometimes it can be surprising what turns out to be valuable (to someone, anyway).

I’m also pleased to report that I inked the final stanza of The Rime of the Ancient Mariner this weekend, successfully meeting my 2013 goal of making 144 pages illustrating the poem! I spoke with the folks at Studio360 about my impending completion of the endeavor a few weeks ago, and you can hear that interview here, if you’re interested. Now, it’s on to coloring! And publishing! If you’d like to get periodic updates about how I’m progressing with the project, you can sign up here for the e-mail newsletter I’ll be firing up this year. Of course, you can read about things here on the website too, but I’ll try to make the newsletter worth your while.

I’ve got some big plans for 2014, so I’m excited to get started. I’m finding myself with a lot of creative momentum after finishing that last page, which is a delightful side-effect. I’m going to make 2014 a year for making all sorts of interesting things!
