I think most of our Christmas trees have received names over the last few years, although I don’t really remember many of them. I think “Douglas” is a frequent choice, because many of our trees are Douglas Firs. Most of our trees in the future will also probably be called Douglas, because it’s not the sort of thing I’m likely to remember from year to year.
So, our Christmas tree is named after an exiled chef from one of Lorie’s cooking shows. I guess I could try to make more tree jokes about the “fallen” contestant, “cut down” in his prime… but maybe I should just tend to all of this Christmas business I gotta get done before next week. Too much to do! I’m sure I say this to myself every year, but I should really get all this stuff done in July, so I can just relax through December. Or at least get something done in regards to the Rime of the Ancient Mariner… I feel like I’ve been neglecting it, and I’m behind schedule on the coloring process as it is.
