Hey, What Happened To The Comic?

I’m afraid the time has come: it’s time to (partially) decommission the Tyranny of Pants. I haven’t been artistically active in several years, and now that I’m in graduate school, hoping to reboot into a more conventional career, it seems unlikely that the comic will return in any meaningful way in the foreseeable future. More urgently, it seems the ComicPress theme is no longer being actively developed or maintained, which has the consequence of making the site more vulnerable to hackers. I’ve discovered, for example, that some entrepreneurial representatives of the shadowy world of pharmaceutical brokerage have done something to the site to divert links from search engines to a sketchy site permitting one to procure their illicit wares. I was able to fix it once earlier this month, but it’s back, and I think it’s just going to happen over and over again given the apparent vulnerabilities of this ancient WP theme.

So, here’s a more active “default” theme that will hopefully prove to be more resilient against the efforts of bots and hackers. The side effect, unfortunately, is that none of the comics will be visible, as they made use of some sort of specific formatting within the ComicPress theme, and re-posting hundreds of comics simply isn’t a priority right now, since I’m taking time to focus on my studies and begin a new career.

But, I’m still here. I’m doing fine, and busy being a Dad these days now too. Right now, it’s time to focus on school, family… and maybe getting into a D&D game again. I’ll probably pick up the pen to start drawing again sometime, but to tell the truth it might be a several years from now. Thanks for reading, thanks for your support, and I’ll see you later!
